Chakra Dancing Healing the body through movement and dance I spent most of 2008 and some of 2009 training with Elizabeth Whiter to become a Chakra Dancing Teacher, and with a Diploma securely under my belt, am now a fully qualified Teacher and delighted to bring Chakra Dancing to you! Chakra Dancing is a wonderful workout for mind, body and soul. We all experience energy blocks in the body; fatigue, low energy levels, stress, lack of confidence, or simply the pressures everyday life, so imagine allowing your body to release it and then let it go. Through spontaneous free form dancing, guided by an instructor, we can free up our natural energy flows to harmonise and balance the energy centres that run throughout the body, creating positive changes that we can all benefit from. With a different piece of music relating each chakra centre, enabling you to release those blockages to leave you feeling energised and yet completely balanced within |

Base Chakra The Base Chakra is the first Chakra and can be found at the very base of your spine. We start with a few deep breaths, breathing in the colour red, to relax the body and release the stresses of the day. Sending out our roots to ground ourselves, literally rooting our bodies to the ground. Marching on the spot and stretching the body - the base Chakra is our warm up ensuring that our muscles are ready to be worked - remember to always work at your own pace, there's no pace setting or forcing you to do anything you can't do. Now as you start to travel around floor, still stretching out, feel the tribal rhythms in the music. The Base Chakra is the foundation of our being, connecting us to our bodies and the physical world. |

Sacral
Chakra The Sacral Chakra is between the hips, and with the element of Water, it's related to our Bladder, Menopause, Ovaries/Testes & Kidneys. At this Chakra we can allow emotional energy to be released, sadness, joy and love. It's important that we allow self trust to flow and that you are proud to be who you are. For this Chakra we work the hip area, gyrating and rolling them as we strut around the room. You are gorgeous and you look fantastic! |
|
Solar Plexus Just above our belly button, this is where we hold on to all the stresses and worries in our lives such as money, job, security. With a jazzy up-beat tempo, it's time to make a list of all those negativities around you, taking each one at a time, kick and punch it out, letting it go - you don't need it in your life - you are strong, you are centred, you are determined! Once you've cleared out all that is negative in your life, it's time to fill up your soul with that beautiful sun energy. |
|
Heart Chakra In the centre of your chest, the heart Chakra is not just about the love you have for your friends and family, it's also about loving yourself - something we forget to do sometimes! This Chakra brings out your inner child and is an opportunity to skip around the room and swing your partners - it's all about laughter and love, giving and receiving. Unconditional love! |
|
Throat
Chakra The Throat Chakra is all about communication - or lack of it in most cases - and not saying those things that need to be said can sometimes lead to ears, nose and throat infections! As we start to slow down at this Chakra, you never know what you're going to get - walking slowly around the room playing a percussion instrument, singing a group mantra, reading out a power card either for yourself or someone else in the group. |

Third
Eye/Brow Chakra A chance for your brain to have a workout with Brain Gym! A few cross-crawling (hand to opposite knee) and Ipsolateral (hand to same knee) exercises, a few Yoga moves, gently stretching the body out. This Chakra is all about wisdom, clarity of thought, balance and intuition. |
|
Crown Chakra Cooling down the body with a beautiful, heavenly piece of music. Slowly moving around the floor in slow motion. Awakening your divine connection. Meditating ... Reflecting ... Enlightenment is yours! Then it's time to draw your energies back in and around you to the sounds of the Tibetan singing bowls. |
