Julie Showering Hypnotherapy is committed to protecting and respecting the privacy of its Clients using our services in accordance with GDPR.

This policy sets out the basis on which any personal data we collect from you, or that you provide to us, will be processed by us. Please read the following carefully to understand our views and practices regarding your personal data and how we will treat it. By submitting personal data to us, you agree to us using your data as follows.

 

Information we may collect from you

We may collect personal data from you in the following ways:

  • Information that you provide to by phone, email and at the Initial Consultation.

  • If you contact us, we may keep a record of that correspondence.

  • By visiting our website, non-identifiable data about your visit may be collected by a third-party, for example Google Analytics.

  • We may collect the following information from you:

  • Name, address and contact details - this is required so that we can contact you regarding your appointments.

  • Details about your issue/problem - this is so that we understand what is going on and can monitor progress

  • Doctors Practice - we are required to collect this information by the NCH our Governing Body in case we ever need to contact your Doctor.

    Where we store your personal data

    The data that we collect from you at the Initial Consultation is kept in its paper format and is stored under lock and key when not in use.

    Personal Data kept on a mobile device is password and security protected.

    We will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this privacy policy.

    Unfortunately, the transmission of information via email is not completely secure. Although we will do our best to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee the security of your data and any transmission is at your own risk. Once we have received your information, we will use strict procedures and security features to try to prevent un-authorised access.

     

    Other Third Parties

    We use the following third-party providers to manage our social media interactions, and provide services to you.  They each have their own privacy polcies which are in accordance with new Data Protection laws.

    Use of the information

    We use information held about you in the following ways:

  • To contact you regarding appointment bookings and changes.

  • To assess treatment and recovery

  • To contact you regarding services/events offered, but only if you have signed up for such services.

    Disclosure of your information

    Unless required by a court of Law, everything discussed with a client is treated as confidential and will not be disclosed to any third party. Everything you say will be treated in the strictest confidence with the following exceptions:

  • Self-Harm: I may need to contact your GP if it appears that you are suicidal or intend to carry out serious self-harm.

  • Abuse or Injury to a Minor: I am legally required to report any abuse towards a minor to the appropriate authorities should you divulge any such information to me

 

Your rights

You have the right to ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold on you.  This will be done in conjunction with GDPR Rules and Regulations.

We keep your personal data under the lawful basis of "Legitimate Interest".  This means that as a health provider, we are required to keep your Personal Data in accordance with our Insurance Provider and Professional Bodies we are a member of.  In this instance, your personal data is kept for 7 years after your final appointment.

Any changes we may make to our privacy policy in the future will be posted on this page.
